Cookies

In short: the app uses two cookies that keep you signed in. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) are set on the website and in the app only if you accept them; nothing is loaded before. No advertising cookies.
Website (zoopace.com)
The website keeps your answer to the cookie banner in your browser (zp-consent, for a year); "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page changes it. Only if you accept, Google Analytics sets:
_ga,_ga_<id>- Tell visits apart and count sessions, for analytics. Up to 13 months.
App
When you sign in, our API (api.zoopace.com) sets these, and only it can read them:
zoopace_session- Keeps you signed in. Ends when you sign out, or after 30 days without using the app.
zoopace_accounts- Remembers the other accounts signed in on this browser, so you can switch between them. Same lifetime.
Both are strictly necessary for the app to work, are sent only over HTTPS, and can't be read by scripts on the page.
If you allow usage analytics in the app, Google Analytics also sets _ga and _ga_<id> on app.zoopace.com, as on the website.
Other services
- Google and Facebook: if you sign in with them, their sign-in pages use their own cookies, under their own policies.
- Maps and species names: the app loads maps from MapTiler and species names from GBIF. These requests carry no Zoopace cookies.
Removing them
Signing out removes both sign-in cookies. You can also delete them in your browser's settings, which signs you out. Saying no to analytics (Cookie settings on the website, Profile in the app) removes the analytics cookies.
